Regular Season Round 16: Slask Wroclaw - Siarka 78-63

Date: January 16, 2016
Bottom-ranked Slask managed to get a third victory, breaking the eleven-game losing streak. This time they won against fourteenth-ranked Stabill in Wroclaw 78-63. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 15-point difference suggests that Slask is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game was mostly controlled by Slask. Stabill was better in fourth quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Jarvis Williams (203-93, college: Murray St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. The former international power forward Mateusz Jarmakowicz (208-88) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Slask players scored in double figures. Slask's coach Mihailo Uvalin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Gary Bell (190-92, college: Gonzaga) replied with 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Jakub Patoka (200-94) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Stabill. Slask (3-13) moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Start Lublin. Stabill lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. Slask will play against league's leader Stelmet in Zielona Gora in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Stabill will play at home against Wilki Morskie (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
