Regular Season Round 13: Ribola Kastela - Alkar Sinj 86-88

Important game to mention about took place in Kastela Sucurac. Sixth ranked Alkar Sinj (6-6) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 11th ranked Ribola Kastela (2-10) 88-86 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 29-20 Ribola Kastela's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 88-86 at the end of the game. Forward Jure Boban (201-94) stepped up and scored 22 points for the winners and guard Antonio Bilic (188-86) chipped in 14 points. Four Alkar Sinj players scored in double figures. Alkar Sinj's coach Mladen Vuskovic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side guard Nikola Dosen (190-91, agency: PEPI SPORT) responded with 26 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and Serbian power forward Aco Mandic (203-84, agency: 011 Sports) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Alkar Sinj moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Gorica. Ribola Kastela lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Alkar Sinj will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ribola Kastela will play on the road against the league's leader Kvarner (#1) in Rijeka and hopes to get back on the winning track.
