Regular Season Round 15: Bolzano - Pordenone 52-59

Rather expected game when 12th ranked Bolzano (4-11) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Pordenone (8-7) 59-52 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-15. But Bolzano won second period 12-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Israeli Elena Castello (182-98) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Rachele Porcu (165-97) chipped in 11 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Polish-French center Karolina Piotrkiewicz (190-84, college: Liberty) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Viviana Giordano (167-89) added 13 points and 4 steals respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pordenone moved-up to seventh place in A2. Bolzano at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Pordenone will face Costa Masnaga (#10) at home in the next round. Bolzano will play against Albino and hope to win that game.
