Regular Season Round 11: Panathinaikos - Kronos AD 65-57

Very expected game when 6th ranked Kronos AD (5-6) lost to second ranked Panathinaikos (9-2) in Athens 57-65 on Saturday. Panathinaikos forced 22 Kronos AD turnovers. Strangely Kronos AD outrebounded Panathinaikos 41-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Diana Delva (188-88, college: Hartford) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. The former international Ria Pateraki (185-93, college: Texas Woman's) accounted for 12 points for the winning side. Panathinaikos' coach Petros Prekas used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. U.S. Virgin Islands-American swingman Natalie Day (182-90, college: Portland) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and American center Verdine Warner (196-92, college: Shaw) added 11 points and 14 rebounds respectively for Kronos AD in the defeat. Panathinaikos maintains second place with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader Olympiacos Pireus. Newly promoted Kronos AD keeps the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Athinaikos. Panathinaikos will meet league's leader Olympiacos Pireus in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kronos AD will play against Proteas (#3) and hope to secure a win.
