An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Cork. First ranked DCU Mercy faced their biggest opponent TM Hotel Cork. Guests from Dublin (11-1) defeated host TM Hotel Cork (7-4) 82-70. DCU Mercy dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to TM Hotel Cork's 40. DCU Mercy forced 24 TM Hotel Cork turnovers and outrebounded them 43-28 including a 39-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by TM Hotel Cork helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. DCU Mercy have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-1 record. Defending champion TM Hotel Cork dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Killester. DCU Mercy are looking forward to face bottom-ranked P.Panthers (#9) in Portlaoise in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TM Hotel Cork will play at home against Liffey Celtics (#7) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
