Regular Season Round 16: Zamarat - Bembibre 83-56

We should mention about the upset which took place in Zamora, where higher ranked Socinsa Bembibre (8-8) was outleveled in a road game by eleventh ranked Zamarat (6-10) 83-56 on Saturday. The game without a history. Zamarat led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Zamarat outrebounded Socinsa Bembibre 38-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Zamarat especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Socinsa Bembibre's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Portuguese center Sofia Silva (187-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Mariona Ortiz (183-92) who added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Five Zamarat players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Anna Gomez (181-86, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Shanece McKinney (193-92, college: LSU) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Zamarat moved-up to tenth place, which they share with CREF Hola. Loser Socinsa Bembibre keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Zamarat will meet higher ranked Argon Uni Girona (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Socinsa Bembibre will play against Universitario de Ferrol and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
