There was no surprise in Kotka where 9th ranked Peli-Karhut (1-13) was defeated by second ranked ViVe (11-4) 67-56. The game was mostly controlled by ViVe. Peli-Karhut was better in fourth quarter 24-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Peli-Karhut to just 5 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Peli-Karhut 61-40 including a 22-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American swingman Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 20 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Her fellow American import forward Alexyz Vaioletama (185-93, college: USC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 20 rebounds for the winners. Center Matilda-Annastiina Masseli (186-98) answered with 12 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American guard Tear'A Laudermill (175-92, college: Nebraska) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Peli-Karhut. ViVe maintains second place with 11-4 record having nine points less than leader Catz. Peli-Karhut lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. ViVe will play against HyPo (#3) in Hyvinkaa in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Peli-Karhut will play on the road against Pyrinto (#8) in Tampere and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
