Regular Season Round 16: Binnenland - Grasshoppers 70-63

There was a change at the Eredivisie leadership position after last games. Round 16 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Grasshoppers (10-3). They were defeated by fifth ranked Binnenland (6-8) 70-63 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Grasshoppers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Zera Butter (179-92) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Lisa Van den Adel (179-89) who added 25 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international forward Sharon Beld (186-88) responded with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Sonja Kuijt scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Binnenland maintains fifth position with 6-8 record. Grasshoppers at the other side still keep top place with three games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Den Helder who have the same record. Grasshoppers will play next round against strong Loon Lions trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Binnenland will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked CTO in Amsterdam.
