Regular Season Round 17: Chalon - Nanterre 94-100

Date: January 16, 2016
An interesting game where JSF Nanterre (#6) beat host Chalon/Saor (#5) 100-94 on Saturday evening. Strangely Chalon/Saor outrebounded JSF Nanterre 32-20. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 64.3 percentage. JSF Nanterre looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Mykal Riley (198-85, college: Alabama) stepped up and scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and forward Tasmin Mitchell (201-86, college: LSU) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. Center Devin Booker (203-91, college: Clemson) responded with 29 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard John Roberson (180-88, college: Texas Tech) scored 25 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Chalon/Saor's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. JSF Nanterre have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Strasbourg. Loser Chalon/Saor dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Dijon. JSF Nanterre will meet at home league's second-placed Monaco in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chalon/Saor will play against Olympique Antibes (#10) and hope to secure a win.
