No shocking result in a game when Capitalinos (2-0) beat at home Ciego de Avila (0-2) 64-59 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Guard Daniel Simon (185-96) notched a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and international center Orestes Torres (203-87) supported him with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Even 19 points and 8 rebounds by the former international point guard Yasser Rodriguez (187-88) did not help to save the game for Ciego de Avila. Guard Vanier Reyes (193-83) added 9 points and 14 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Capitalinos will meet Pinar del Rio (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Ciego de Avila will play against Artemisa and hope to win that game.
