Regular Season Round 3: Guantanamo - Capitalinas 84-65

The biggest surprise of round 3 in Liga Superior took place in where host Guantanamo (3-0) crushed Capitalinas (2-1) 84-65 on Sunday evening. Guantanamo made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game, while Capitalinas only scored eight points from the stripe. Guantanamo forced 30 Capitalinas turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Oslaidis Rojas (180-91) who scored 23 points and 6 steals. Yunieski Bouly (184-92) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Anilegna Colas (163-95) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds and center Lianyi Bequer (194-97) added 14 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Capitalinas will play next round against Villa Clara trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Guantanamo will try to continue on its current victory against Camaguey on the road.
