Regular Season Round 17: Piombino - Bottegone 60-57
Date: January 17, 2016
No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Piombino (11-6) edged at home 14th ranked Bottegone (5-12) 60-57 on Sunday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Mario Gigena (198-77) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Mattia Venucci (185-90) chipped in 8 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Fiorello Toppo (198-80) produced 11 points and 9 rebounds and center Roberto Marconato (204-78) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Piombino moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Bottegone lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Piombino will face Valsesia (#8) on the road in the next round. Bottegone will play against Santarcangelo (#5) and hope to win that game.
