No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Charleville-Mez. (8-4) defeated on the road 10th ranked Angers (3-9) 57-53. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 16-12. But Angers won second period 12-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Angers 41-26 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Amel Bouderra (160-89) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Belgian Kim Mestdagh (179-90, college: Colorado St., agency: LBM Management) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Marie Mane (183-95, agency: Comsport) answered with 14 points and guard Marie-Eve Paget (170-94) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Angers. Charleville-Mez. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Landes. Angers at the other side keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Toulouse and Nantes. Charleville-Mez. will play against Basket Landes (#5) in Mont de Marsan in the next round. Angers will play at home against Hainaut (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
