Regular Season Round 17: Orzinuovi GaGa - Lecco 74-71

Sixth-ranked Lecco (9-7) made lots of trouble for first ranked Orzinuovi GaGa (15-1). Orzinuovi GaGa managed to secure only three-point victory 74-71. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lecco. Guard Antonio Ruggiero (190-81, agency: SPORTlab Agency) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international power forward Riccardo Perego (202-81) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four Orzinuovi GaGa players scored in double figures. Guard Giulio Mascherpa (185-92, agency: Interperformances) answered with 16 points and 7 assists and center Giorgio Piunti (206-90, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Lecco. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Orzinuovi GaGa. Despite that victory Orzinuovi GaGa went down to second position due to points difference. Lecco at the other side keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. Orzinuovi GaGa will play against Volpino (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lecco will play against Fiorentina (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
