Regular Season Round 11: Aris Petropolis - Olympiacos Pireus 44-105

A1 top team - Olympiacos Pireus (11-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed tenth ranked Aris Petropolis (0-11) 105-44. Olympiacos Pireus dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Aris Petropolis' 32 and had 27 for 36 from the free-throw line, while Aris Petropolis only scored three points from the stripe. Olympiacos Pireus forced 29 Aris Petropolis turnovers and outrebounded them 47-28 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Olympiacos Pireus players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Aris Petropolis' players. It was a great evening for American forward Hallie Christofferson (190-91, college: Iowa St.) who led her team to a victory scoring 14 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Natali Plumbi (169-81) responded with 9 points and 6 assists and forward Andriana Tsoumani (185-79) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olympiacos Pireus have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-0 record. Newly promoted Aris Petropolis still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Olympiacos Pireus will play against league's second-placed Panathinaikos in Athens in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
