Regular Season Round 18: SKK Siedlce - GTK Gliwice 72-70

Sixteenth-ranked GTK Gliwice (3-15) was very close to win a game against twelfth ranked SKK Siedlce (7-11) on Sunday. SKK Siedlce managed to secure only two-point victory 72-70. However their fans expected much easier game. SKK Siedlce outrebounded GTK Gliwice 44-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. Marcin Kowalewski (200-86, agency: Promotex) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and guard Rafal Sobilo (188-89) supported him with 21 points. Even 23 points by Pawel Szymanski (192-92) did not help to save the game for GTK Gliwice. Center Lukasz Paul (205-89, agency: Promotex) added 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. SKK Siedlce have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Notec Inowr. and Nysa Klodzko. GTK Gliwice lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. SKK Siedlce will meet higher ranked GKS Tychy (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. GTK Gliwice will play against Rosa II Radom (#9) and hope to secure a win.
