Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Taranto (4-13) was defeated at home by second ranked San Severo (15-2) 64-59 on Sunday. Taranto was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was power forward Andrea Quarisa (202-92) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Antonello Ricci (190-92) chipped in 16 points. Point guard Valerio Circosta (188-87) produced 16 points and 5 assists and point guard Roberto Maggio (183-90) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. The victory was the thirteenth consecutive win for San Severo. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Montegrano. Taranto lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth place with 13 games lost. San Severo will face Senigallia (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Taranto will play against Vasto (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
