Leader Grissin Bon RE delivered the twelfth victory. This time they beat 13th ranked Auxilium TO (5-11) 77-72 in Reggio Emilia. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Auxilium TO. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-17. But Auxilium TO won second period 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Grissin Bon RE won last quarter 22-19. Grissin Bon RE outrebounded Auxilium TO 38-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Stefano Gentile (191-89) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). International forward Achille Polonara (203-91) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international swingman Guido Rosselli (198-83) replied with 20 points and 4 assists and American D.J. White (206-86, college: Indiana) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Auxilium TO. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Grissin Bon RE have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-4 record, which they share with EA7 Armani. Newly promoted Auxilium TO keeps the thirteenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with VL Pesaro and O.Lavoro BO. Grissin Bon RE will play against Scandone AV (#8) in Avellino in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Auxilium TO will play at home against Juvecaserta (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
