The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Etzella's (8-9) road loss to fourth ranked Basket Esch (10-7) 101-106 on Sunday. American swingman Zeke Upshaw (198-91, college: Hofstra) nailed a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds for the winning side and Slovakian power forward Stefan Svitek (203-77) accounted for 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Canadian power forward Billy McNutt (203-85) came up with 30 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Alex Francis (198-91, college: Bryant, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 19 points and 16 rebounds respectively for Etzella in the defeat. Five Etzella players scored in double figures. Basket Esch maintains fourth place with 10-7 record. Loser Etzella keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Basket Esch will meet league's leader Amicale in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Etzella will play against Heffingen (#9) and hope to secure a win.
