There was no surprise when 12th ranked MKK Siedlce (2-13) was defeated at home by sixth ranked AZS UMCS (8-7) 80-63 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-63. It was a great evening for American guard Leah Metcalf (170-83, college: N.Carolina) who led her team to a victory scoring 24 points and 4 assists. International point guard Dominika Owczarzak (168-94) helped adding 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four AZS UMCS players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Magdalena Koperwas (177-93) with 18 points and 9 rebounds and guard Katarzyna Trzeciak (173-92, agency: Promotex) scored 15 points and 5 assists. AZS UMCS maintains sixth place with 8-7 record. MKK Siedlce lost their sixth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. AZS UMCS will meet at home Widzew (#8) in the next round. MKK Siedlce will play against the league's second-placed Artego Bydg. (#2) in Bydgoszcz and hope to secure a win.
