Leader Wisla Krakow delivered the thirteenth victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 10th ranked Sosnowiec (3-12) 75-67. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Wisla Krakow made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American guard Yvonne Turner (176-87, college: Nebraska) who led her team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!), 5 assists and 4 steals. Spanish center Laura Nicholls (189-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) helped adding 6 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Shannon McCallum (177-87, college: Charlotte) with 25 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Aishah Sutherland (187-90, college: Kansas, agency: Two Points) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Wisla Krakow. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-2 record. Newly promoted Sosnowiec keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with MUKS Poznan. Wisla Krakow will meet at home Polkowice (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sosnowiec will play against MUKS Poznan (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
