Regular Season Round 15: Marghera - Albino 61-69

There was no surprise in Venezia where 8th ranked Marghera (7-8) was defeated by sixth ranked Albino (9-6) 69-61 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 30-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Albino outrebounded Marghera 39-27 including a 27-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Marghera was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Laura Fumagalli (178-85) who scored 28 points and 8 rebounds. The former international center Elisa Silva (192-88, agency: LBM Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Carla Fabris (185-86) who recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds and guard Gaia Zussino (172-92) added 17 points respectively. Marghera's coach Francesco Iurlaro let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Albino moved-up to fourth place in A2. Newly promoted Marghera dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Albino will face Bolzano (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Marghera will play against Virtus Cagliari (#14) and hope to win that game.
