No shocking result in a game in Zaragoza where third ranked Mann Filter (11-5) defeated 13th ranked Gran Canaria (5-11) 73-69 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 13 points after three quarters before their 26-9 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Mann Filter made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Italian-Paraguayan swingman Paola Ferrari (178-85, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Bulgarian Jaklin Zlatanova (190-88) who added 14 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Mann Filter players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Taysha Pye (175-89, college: William & Mary) responded with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Czech forward Michaela Stejskalova (186-87) scored 18 points. Mann Filter have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 11-5 record having four points less than leader Avenida, which they share with Girona. Loser Gran Canaria dropped to the twelfth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Campus Promete. Mann Filter will meet Gipuzkoa UPV (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Gran Canaria will play against the league's leader Perfumerias Avenida and hope to secure a win.
