Regular Season Round 11: Guaros - Bucaneros 85-73

The game between second ranked Bucaneros (6-3) and fourth ranked Guaros (6-3) was the most important one in the last round on Monday night. Bucaneros were defeated by Guaros in Barquisimeto 85-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bucaneros. It was a great evening for international power forward Luis Bethelmy (200-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 7 rebounds. Nestor Colmenares (203-87, college: Campbellsville, agency: Pro Sports) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Dominican guard Juan Coronado (193-83) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and the former international power forward Hector Romero (202-80, college: New Orleans) scored 16 points. Five Guaros and four Bucaneros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guaros moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Bucaneros. Guaros is again looking forward to face Bucaneros (#4) in La Guaira in the next round. Bucaneros will have a break next round.
