Regular Season Round 38: Lanus - Quimsa 83-80

Important game to mention about took place in Buenos Aires. Eighth ranked Lanus (12-17) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Quimsa (15-14) 83-80 on Monday evening. Quimsa was ahead by 12 points at the halftime before a 26-7 third quarter run of Lanus. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Quimsa to just 7 points in third quarter. It was a great shooting night for Lanus especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Quimsa was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Rodney Green (196-88, college: La Salle) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized Italian center Omar Canton (206-82) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Lanus' coach German Intonio allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international forward Nicolas Romano (200-87) replied with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Italian center Damian Tintorelli (204-81) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Quimsa. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lanus have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Instituto C. Defending champion Quimsa keeps the fifth position with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
