Regular Season Round 20: Petrochimi - Chemidor 76-60

Rather expected game when 4th ranked Chemidor (13-6) lost to first ranked Petrochimi (16-4) in Bandar Imam 60-76 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Petrochimi. Chemidor was better in fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dominican-American point guard Edgar Sosa (190-88, college: Louisville, agency: Duran International) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 4 assists. The former international Arman Zangeneh (202-93) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Petrochimi's coach Mehran Shahintab used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Ali Armen Allahverdi (197-82) replied with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Ivorian-French Herve Toure (205-82) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Chemidor. Petrochimi have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 16-4 record. Newly promoted Chemidor keeps the fourth place with six games lost. Petrochimi will face Shahrdari Gorgan (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Chemidor's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tehran Ayandeh Sazan.
