Regular Season Round 21: Baerum Basket - Centrum 106-98

The game between second ranked Centrum (9-4) and seventh ranked Baerum Basket (7-8) was the most important one in the last round on Tuesday night. Centrum was defeated by Baerum Basket in a tough game in Bekkestua 98-106. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Centrum. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 40-31 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Baerum Basket made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Centrum turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Point guard Stian Mjos (183-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 50 points (!!!) and 11 assists for the winners and American forward Mike Bruesewitz (201-90, college: Wisconsin) chipped in 42 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Roy Nwachukwu (196-90, college: Seminole St.) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Harald Frey (182-97) scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Centrum players scored in double figures. Baerum Basket moved-up to sixth place. Centrum at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. Baerum Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Centrum will play on the road against the league's second-placed Tromso and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
