Regular Season Round 14: St Quentin - Souffel 55-49

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Saint-Quentin (6-8) defeated at home higher ranked Souffelweyersheim (6-7) 55-49 on Tuesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Souffelweyersheim won fourth quarter 12-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American swingman Ryan Evans (203-90, college: Wisconsin) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Nigerian power forward Dinma Odiakosa (203-85, college: Illinois St., agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 8 points and 13 rebounds. American forward Jarryd Cole (205-88, college: Iowa) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Matthew Gibson (195-84) added 10 points and 7 steals respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Saint-Quentin moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Souffelweyersheim keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Saint-Quentin will face higher ranked Provence Basket (#8) in Fos-sur-Mer in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
