Very expected game when 17th ranked Chorale de Roanne (5-9) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Le Portel (8-6) 86-74 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Le Portel. Chorale de Roanne was better in third quarter 18-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Le Portel made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Benoit Mangin (191-88) who scored 25 points and 4 assists. American center Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Swedish Kenny Grant (188-82, college: Davidson) produced 20 points and 8 assists and Sadio Doucoure (200-92) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Le Portel moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Boulazac. Loser Chorale de Roanne keeps the seventeenth position with nine games lost. Le Portel will face Lille Metropole (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Chorale de Roanne will play against Charleville-Mezieres and hope to win that game.
