Liga Superior top team - Guantanamo (4-1) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Villa Clara (0-5) 74-67. Guantanamo forced 25 Villa Clara turnovers and outrebounded them 31-17 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Oslaidis Rojas (180-91) nailed 28 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winning side and forward Sandra Enamorado (174-84) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds. Center Lesdaine Valle (181-92) came up with 15 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and point guard Maria Perez (170) added 12 points respectively for Villa Clara in the defeat.
