17th ranked Bayi Rockets (7-24) fell to nineteenth ranked TianJin Steel (7-24) in overtime by six points 98-104. The game took place in Ningbo. But the guests from Tianjin were better at the end. The guests were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 25-23 run, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 12-6. 29 personal fouls committed by Bayi Rockets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Jordan Crawford (193-88, college: Xavier) fired 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import forward Jason Maxiell (201-83, college: Cincinnati) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds. Center Hao Fu (206-98) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds and the former international guard Shuo Han (196-86) added 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four Bayi Rockets players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. TianJin Steel moved-up to seventeenth place, which they share with Bayi R. and Jilin NE T. Bayi Rockets lost fourth consecutive game. TianJin Steel's next round opponent will be higher ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (#8) in Hangzhou and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
