Regular Season Round 31: Fujian QB - Jiangsu D. 114-120

Rather predictable result when twelfth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (14-17) won against 16th ranked Fujian (11-20) in Jinjiang 120-114 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 38-23 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Jiangsu Dragons made 22-of-22 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a very good performance for American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!) and 8 assists (made all of his eight free throws). The former international forward Lin Chang (206-88, college: Long Beach St.) contributed with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) answered with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists and Lebanese swingman Fadi Khatib (199-79) added 24 points and 4 assists in the effort for Fujian. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Jiangsu Dragons have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Shanxi Zh. and Qingdao E. Fujian lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 20 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face North Control (#14) in Beijing in the next round. Fujian will play at home against DongGuan Leopards and hope to win that game.
