Regular Season Round 28: Hispano Am. - Gimnasia LP 82-77

Date: January 22, 2016
No shocking result in a game in Rio Gallegos where first ranked Hispano Am. (12-8) won against 6th ranked Gimnasia LP (8-13) 82-77 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 27-21 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Hispano Am. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Sebastian Mignani (181-90) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 assists and the other American import forward Terry Martin Jr. (199-89, college: Wofford) who added 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side center Eduardo Vassirani (200-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Maximiliano Segon (200-91) scored 22 points. Four Gimnasia LP players scored in double figures. Hispano Am. maintains first position with 12-8 record. Newly promoted Gimnasia LP keeps the sixth place with 13 games lost. Hispano Am. will face Ciclista (#5) in Juninense in the next round. Gimnasia LP will play at home against MH Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
