Regular Season Round 32: North Control B. - Jiangsu D. 116-120

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 14th ranked North Control's (12-20) home loss to thirteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (15-17) 116-120 on Friday. North Control trailed by 20 points at halftime and as many as 28 after three quarters before a 49-25 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 116-120 at the end of the game. Jiangsu Dragons made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Jiangsu Dragons made 7 blocks. North Control was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) who helped to win the game recording 43 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and the former international Li Yi (203-85) who added 27 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. American forward Dorell Wright (206-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and Uruguayan-Spanish power forward Esteban Batista (208-83, agency: Duran International) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Four Jiangsu Dragons and five North Control players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Jiangsu Dragons have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Shanghai S. and Qingdao E. Loser North Control keeps the fourteenth position with 20 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face Jilin Tigers (#17) in Changchun in the next round and are hoping to win another game. North Control will play on the road against Fujian in Jinjiang and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
