Regular Season Round 16: Fubon Braves - Taiwan Beer 75-78

Fifth-ranked Fubon Braves (8-11) made lots of trouble for second ranked Taiwan Beer (13-7). Taiwan Beer managed to secure only three-point victory 78-75. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Fubon Braves. It looked good early as Fubon Braves took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Taiwan Beer had a 18-15 second period charge getting the lead and Fubon Braves were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-78. Worth to mention a great performance of Central African-American center Patrick O'Bryant (213-86, college: Bradley) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 rebounds. International forward Cheng Liu (192-90) contributed with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American center Earl Barron (211-81, college: Memphis) replied with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 17 rebounds and guard Wei-Che Lin (182-92) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Fubon Braves. Taiwan Beer maintains second position with 13-7 record behind leader Pure Youth. Newly promoted Fubon Braves keep the fifth place with 11 games lost. Taiwan Beer will play against bottom-ranked KKL (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Fubon Braves will play against Dacin Tigers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
