Regular Season Round 19: Castello - Forca Lleida 85-65

Not a big story in a game in Castellon where 14th ranked Lleida Basquet (6-13) was rolled over by eighth ranked Castello (10-9) 85-65. It looked good early as Lleida Basquet took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Castello had a 16-13 second period charge getting the lead and Lleida Basquet was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-85. They outrebounded Lleida Basquet 42-31 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Lleida Basquet helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Nigerian forward Zimmy Nwogbo (201-91, college: Cedarville, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Manuel Rodriguez (192-91) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Castello's coach Toni Ten allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American-Saint Lucian forward Khyle Marshall (198-92, college: Butler, agency: Duran International) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Josep Perez (184-94) added 8 points and 5 assists in the effort for Lleida Basquet. Castello moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Caceres and FC Barcelona II. Lleida Basquet at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Castello's next round opponent will be league's leader Palencia Baloncesto on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lleida Basquet will play against Lobe Huesca (#3) and hope to win that game.
