Regular Season Round 32: Beijing Ducks - Shanghai S. 107-88

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Shanghai Sharks (15-17) were crushed on the road by seventh ranked Beijing Ducks (21-11) 107-88 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Beijing Ducks. Shanghai Sharks was better in second period 31-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Shanghai Sharks 52-39 including a 45-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) who added 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. American point guard A.J. Price (188-86, college: Connecticut) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard XiaoYu Liu (191-89) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Five Beijing Ducks and four Shanghai Sharks players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains seventh position with 21-11 record. Loser Shanghai Sharks keep the tenth place with 17 games lost. Beijing Ducks will face higher ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#6) in Hangzhou in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Shanghai Sharks will play on the road against Sichuan BW (#4) and hope to win that game.
