Bottom-ranked Aris Petropolis (0-12) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 12th consecutive match to sixth ranked Athinaikos (6-6) 92-62. Athinaikos players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by the former international guard Aikaterini Spatharou (172-83) who scored that evening 23 points and 7 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and American guard Hailey Dunham (188-87, college: USC, agency: Merit Management Group) supported her with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Athinaikos players scored in double figures. Even 21 points by Nikolina Ioannidou (175-94) did not help to save the game for Aris Petropolis. Guard Natali Plumbi (169-81) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Athinaikos moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Niki Lefkadas. Newly promoted Aris Petropolis still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Athinaikos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Panathinaikos.
