Regular Season Round 15: Sevilla II - Badajoz 69-60

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Badajoz (4-7) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Sevilla II (1-10) 69-60 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 16-14. But Badajoz won second period 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Badajoz 51-31 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Badajoz was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Croatian Leo Cizmic (206-98) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Alejandro Rodriguez (200-98) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds. Sevilla II's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was point guard Juan Valerio (182-91) with 15 points and Dominican forward George Wilson (194-80) scored 13 points. Sevilla II maintains eighth place in Group D-West with 1-10 record. Loser Badajoz keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Sevilla II will face league's leader Plasencia on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
