Regular Season Round 18: Torino - Trecate 79-71

The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-ranked Trecate's (0-18) road loss to fifteenth ranked Torino (2-16) 71-79 on Saturday. Torino made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 Trecate turnovers. Trecate was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for point guard Claudio Maino (182-91) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 5 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Point guard Lorenzo Dello Jacovo (182-96) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Swingman Stefano Scrocco (200-77) replied with 21 points and 9 rebounds and forward Patrick Grossini (193-79) added 22 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Trecate. Trecate's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Torino maintains fifteenth position in B with 2-16 record, which they share with Moncalieri. Newly promoted Trecate still closes the standings with 18 games lost. Torino will face higher ranked San Miniato (#9) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Trecate will play against Oleggio (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
