Regular Season Round 16: AZS AGH Alstom - Alba Chorzow 80-66

There was no surprise in Krakow where 6th ranked Alba Chorzow (7-9) was defeated by second ranked AZS AGH Alstom (14-2) 80-66 on Saturday. AZS AGH Alstom made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. AZS AGH Alstom outrebounded Alba Chorzow 43-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Tomasz Zych (185-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and power forward Maciej Maj (200-88) who added 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side power forward Marcin Weselak (204-79) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Lukasz Wojcik (189-84) scored 22 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS AGH Alstom have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group C leader, which they share with Polonia Bytom. Loser Alba Chorzow dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. AZS AGH Alstom will face league's leader Polonia Bytom on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Alba Chorzow will play against MKS DG 2 (#12) and hope to win that game.
