Leader DCU Mercy delivered the twelfth win. This time they crushed 9th ranked P.Panthers (2-12) 77-49 in Portlaoise. DCU Mercy had a 43-30 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for DCU Mercy especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. American forward Chelisa Painter (185, college: ODU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. The former international center Aoife McDermott (185-91) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Center Claire Melia (185-99) replied with 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks and American swingman Nicole Arnone (178, college: Molloy) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for P.Panthers. DCU Mercy (12-1) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position. P.Panthers lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. DCU Mercy will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. P.Panthers will play at home against TM Hotel Cork (#3) and hope to get back on the winning track.
