Regular Season Round 16: Itago Gdynia - SMS PZKosz 77-81

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked SMS PZKosz (6-9) beat on the road 10th ranked Itago Gdynia (4-11) 81-77 on Saturday. SMS PZKosz forced 20 Itago Gdynia turnovers and had a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Michal Kierlewicz (192-97) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and guard Bartosz Majewski (186-97) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Piotr Peksyk (196-91) responded with 25 points and 7 rebounds and forward Marcin Olik (193-81) scored 11 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. SMS PZKosz moved-up to seventh place in Group A. Newly promoted Itago Gdynia keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. SMS PZKosz will face TKM Wloclawek (#12) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Itago Gdynia will play against AZS PGd in Gdansk and hope to win that game.
