Regular Season Round 16: Al Khor - Al Sadd 64-90

The game in Al Khor supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Al Sadd (13-1) played at the court of 6th ranked Al Khor (5-9). Al Sadd smashed Al Khor 90-64 on Saturday. The game without a history. Al Sadd led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Al Khor to just 5 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Al Khor 52-23 including a 37-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman Khalid Abdi (198-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Ivorian-French center Mohamed Kone (211-81, college: Valparaiso) who added 20 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Four Al Sadd players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Patrick Rembert (185-89, college: Cal-Irvine) responded with 28 points and Ivorian-American swingman Charles Abouo (197-89, college: BYU, agency: Dynamics Global Management) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Al Sadd have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Al Khor keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Al Shamal. Al Sadd will meet Al Wakrah (#5) on the road in the next round. Al Khor will play against Al Jaysh in Doha and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
