Regular Season Round 15: Mieres BVM - Chantada 79-76

Important game to mention about took place in Mieres. Third ranked Mieres BVM (8-2) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 7th ranked Chantada (5-5) 79-76 on Saturday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-17. But Chantada won second period 27-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mieres BVM looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Chantada's players. It was a great evening for point guard Bernat Camarasa (184-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points and 6 assists. American guard John Isenbarger (188-91, college: Elon) helped adding 13 points. The best for the losing side was point guard Carlos Noguerol (186-93) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and center David Guerra (207-89) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Five Chantada players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Mieres BVM. They moved-up to second place in Group A-B. Loser Chantada keeps the seventh position with five games lost. Mieres BVM will face Grupo Inec Z. (#4) in Zamora in the next round. Chantada will play at home against Ourense and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
