There was no surprise in Santa Cruz where 11th ranked Estudiantes B (4-8) was outplayed by fourth ranked Tenerife Naut. (8-4) 90-64 on Saturday. The game without a history. Tenerife Naut. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. Tenerife Naut. outrebounded Estudiantes B 43-18 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Estudiantes B was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for power forward Juan Andres Garcia (199-79) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Ayoze Alonso (187-91) helped adding 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Tenerife Naut. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Sergio Sanchez (189-81) with 15 points and 4 assists and center Carlos Alvar Valle (204-91) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tenerife Naut. moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with Alcazar. Loser Estudiantes B keeps the eleventh position with eight games lost. Tenerife Naut. will face league's second-placed Albacete on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Estudiantes B's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Madrid Real Madrid II.
