There was a surprise result when seventh ranked Real Madrid II (6-6) beat at home second-best Alcazar (8-4) 62-58 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 19-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Real Madrid II outrebounded Alcazar 41-27 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Alcazar was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Brazilian center Felipe Dos Anjos (218-98) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Center Pablo Rodrigo (204-86) helped adding 4 points and 13 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Ignacio Diaz (200-87) with 13 points and 5 rebounds and British-American center Gatluak Thiep (213-92, college: Fayetteville St., agency: Duran International) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Real Madrid II. They maintain seventh place in Group B with 6-6 record. Loser Alcazar dropped to the third position with four games lost. Real Madrid II's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Madrid to the arena Estudiantes B.
