Regular Season Round 6: Al Riyadi - Moutahed 83-77

An interesting game for Al Riyadi (5-0) which hosted in Beirut 3rd ranked Al Moutahed (3-3). Top-ranked Al Riyadi managed to get a 6-point victory 83-77. Al Moutahed was ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 30-18 charge of Al Riyadi, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Al Riyadi outrebounded Al Moutahed 43-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Al Moutahed was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Egyptian power forward Ahmad Ismail (205-76) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Jean Abdel Nour (198-83) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) with 29 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Michael Taylor (186-86, college: Iowa St.) scored 26 points and 5 assists. Al Riyadi have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 5-0 record. Al Moutahed at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Sagesse. Al Riyadi will play against Champville (#8) in Dik El Mehdi in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al Moutahed will play at home against Sagesse and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
