Regular Season Round 19: GKS Tychy - SKK Siedlce 96-84

Very predictable result when fourth ranked GKS Tychy (13-6) defeated at home 11th ranked SKK Siedlce (7-12) 96-84 on Saturday. They outrebounded SKK Siedlce 41-21 including a 26-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for GKS Tychy especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Wojciech Barycz (208-84, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Karol Szpyrka (182-87) helped adding 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. At the losing side Marcin Kowalewski (200-86, agency: Promotex) responded with 23 points and 5 assists and guard Rafal Sobilo (188-89) scored 15 points and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. GKS Tychy moved-up to third place, which they share with Legia W-wa. Loser SKK Siedlce keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. GKS Tychy will face Slask 2 Wroclaw (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. SKK Siedlce will play against Rosa II Radom (#7) and hope to win that game.
