Regular Season Round 18: La Rochelle - Lourdes 70-82
Date: January 23, 2016
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (13-6) beat on the road 10th ranked La Rochelle (8-10) 82-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Lourdes-Tarbes. La Rochelle was better in third quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for Jamaican forward Ricardo Alliman (201-87, college: Cedarville) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 8 rebounds. American-Dutch center Brian Freeman (206-86, college: Long Beach St.) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Alliman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five Lourdes-Tarbes players scored in double figures. American guard Jahsha Bluntt (198-84, college: Delaware St., agency: Octagon Europe) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward William Walker (200-87, college: Bethel, IN, agency: Octagon Europe) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for La Rochelle. La Rochelle's coach Gregory Thielin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lourdes-Tarbes moved-up to third place, which they share with St Vallier. La Rochelle lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Lourdes-Tarbes will face league's second-placed Rueil on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. La Rochelle will play against Caen (#8) and hope to win that game.
